PowerBass 3XL-1210D - 12 Dual 1-Ohm Subwoofer

The PowerBass 3XL-1210D 12-inch subwoofer, with its dual 1-ohm configuration and 1000 watts RMS/2000 watts max power handling, has been engineered to withstand the extreme heat generated by the new generation of Class "D" amplifiers. These amplifiers can heat up the woofer's voice coil two to three times hotter and faster than conventional Class A/B amplifiers, requiring specialized measures and components to create a true "Class D Subwoofer."

To address this challenge, PowerBass has utilized industrial assembly glues made in the USA that can handle the excessive heat, which would normally tear a conventional subwoofer apart. Additionally, the custom-cut, cast aluminum basket features a perimeter venting system that allows air movement over the voice coil, providing effective cooling.

The subwoofer's design incorporates a heavy-duty, non-pressed raw pulp paper cone and a redesigned inverted PBX dust cap, ensuring a robust foundation. The PBX logo dust cap, along with the 3-inch vented HD BASV voice coil former, further contribute to the subwoofer's advanced features.

The perimeter aero-vent voice coil cooling vents and the non-resonance DDC-coated cast aluminum basket work in harmony to dissipate heat and maintain optimal performance. The subwoofer is optimally designed for ported enclosures, taking full advantage of its square spring-loaded, nickel-plated push terminals and its XTRA XTRA XTRA large triple-stacked motor structure.
